A COMMUNITY organisation which was set up to ease religious tension has scooped the title of Enfield’s Business Of The Year.
Founded in 2007 by former Haringey councillor Fiyaz Mughal OBE, Faith Matters was praised for its conflict-resolution work in the UK and across the Middle East. Judges were impressed with the organisation’s social programmes, research, events and publications.
Mr Mughal said: “People have this perception that community organisations are not actually businesses even though we operate exactly like a business.
“It was a fantastic honour to be named business of the year and even more so because the competition we were up against was so high.”
The runner-up was named as Elite Feet Football Development, a football coaching firm run by Daniel Larner and based in Green Road, Southgate.
