Faith Matters held a joint Muslim and Christian dialogue session in Lahore on the 2nd of May 2011. Young people from both faith communities expressed their perspective on being proud Pakistanis and in looking at the multiplicity of identities that people have, rather than singular identities. They also discussed some of the fears and insecurities of communities and the commonalities within faith that Muslims and Christians have. Faith Matters will be holding a series of such seminars in Pakistan over the year.
Faith Matters believes that Muslim and Christian communities should live free from fear in Pakistan which was founded by diverse faith communities, though the majority of the founders were Muslim. Founders of Pakistan also came from other communities including Ahmaddiya and Christian communities and these facts should not be and must not be forgotten. This is why we believe that this work is much needed and we will continue to undertake this work for a brighter future for Pakistan.
