The first Sikh and Muslim Media Monitoring and Response newsletter for 2012 features latest project updates and information about religious festivals. Also included in the newsletter are details about a new Faith Matters project called TELL MAMA which aims to support victims of Anti-Muslim hate crime, and also to map the incidences using specialist software in order to get a fuller picture of the problem. There is also information about partner organisation projects that include research relating to the partition of India and Pakistan, as well as a very insightful article written by one of the project’s volunteers which highlights similarities between the physical appearances of Sikhs and Muslims.

This bulletin outlines the great work that two of our volunteers Ravinder Kaur Dhesi & Hari Malhi have undertaken within the Muslim and Sikh Media Monitoring and Response project. They were rewarded by Ealing CSV for their work. Also within this newsletter are details of the interfaith activity that Faith Matters undertook to mark Interfaith Week in November 2011.

The third quarter of 2011 has seen a lot of activity for the Sikh and Muslim Media Monitoring and Response group and this edition of the newsletter is packed with news, articles and pictures relating to the project. Features include an article about the unity of Sikhs and Muslims during the England riots which took place in the summer, information about a special volunteer awards ceremony taking place in Ealing and a personal piece from a new member of the Sikh Muslim group.

The Sikh and Muslim Media Monitoring and Response GroupThe Sikh and Muslim Media Monitoring and Response Group have produced their second newsletter. Features include a personal account from a pilgrim who joined the Interfaith Walk in Southall and an article from one of the group members as well as information about exciting plans to build a Sikh war memorial in Derby.
