The Righteous Muslims Booklet: Remembering their Histories

Faith Matters (www.faith-matters.org) will be launching the Righteous Muslims booklet at the St Ethelburga’s Centre for Reconciliation and Peace on Wednesday the 7th of July. The booklet lists the stories of Albanian and North African Muslims who, driven by their Muslim faith and an honour code of Besa in Albania, protected the lives of Jews during the holocaust. The book will list the stories of Ali Sheqer Pashki from Albania (who saved Yeoshua Baruchowic), Selahattin Ulkumen (the Turkish Consul on the Island of Rhodes during the Second World War and who saved 50 Jews) and Mustafa Hardaga and family who saved Josef Kavilio and his family.

Date and Time: 7th July 2010. Starts 6pm ends 8pm.

Venue: St Ethelburga’s Centre for Peace and Reconciliation, 78 Bishopsgate, London, EC2N 4AG

Nearest Tube Station: The Centre is five minutes walk from both Bank and Liverpool Street Stations (zone 1). You can walk over the bridge from London Bridge Station in about 15 minutes.

Coming by Car: It is difficult to park near the Centre. If you want to use a car the nearest car park is the NCP – London Rodwell House in Strype Street, London, E1 7LF, (0207 247 7923).
