Faith Matters (www.faith-matters.org) will be launching the Developing Diversity directory which is a directory of 100 mosques in England that meet 4 or 5 criteria that Muslim women want to see within service delivery in mosques.
Over 100 Muslim women from different nationalities were interviewed to find out what 5 key elements they wanted to see within service delivery in mosques and up to 500 mosques were assessed via telephone and face to face meetings against the 5 elements. The directory ranks the mosques as four star or five star mosques depending on whether they meet four or five of the criteria or elements.
There are many more mosques in the country that provide excellent services to Muslim women and this directory is a snapshot of 100 that meet four or five of the criteria that Muslim women wanted to see within mosques. It is hoped that the directory will provide key reference points to other institutions so that best practice can be disseminated and good work around inclusion celebrated.
RSVP’s should be sent to contact Claire Barnes on pa@faith-matters.co.uk or on 0207 554 8847.
